Breakers' yard closing down

Went to the local bike breaker (I am a good customer) and the owner sold the business... to a bunch a neo-bikies wanting to set-up a HARLEY DEALERSHIP!!!!!! When i got there they had already trashed a mountain of bikes, 15 years of breaker's stock going to the crusher...

Welll guys can I help you with that? I'll even move them myself....

Kr1 Track Bike Part 2

Went yesterday to see the Kr1. Track bike with the usual scratches but running strong. It's the same as mine (1st model) but comes with an almost complete 2nd bike, a Kr1S obviously, torn to bits with an extra motor and tons of fairings. 450£ /1500 swiss, about a grand US. Divorce forces sale... the usual story. Guy is a racer about to retire, the bike was bought for his kids (!)... not quite happening since the divorce is on. He also has the only dyno in the region, sadly since the shop fire it is not yet ready to run. We'll check again on the 25th.

A1 1969 reference pics

Again pulled from an eBay auction a fairly straight example of an A1 1969 model. Bear in mind that is probably a late 1969 model as the paint style was changed at the start of the production. Enjoy the pics!

A1R disc valves

Finally received the disc valves 2wheelsdeals, a eBay shop i can strongly recommend. Unknown to them, there was a Kawasaki A1R disc valve in their kit... makes my day. It's been over three years since I've seen one for sale. Noelia's motor is (very) slowly coming together.

Caught by the Fuzz

OOOPS, Finally got it good. Crossed a white line in front of a parking lot and a cop car materialized out of thin air. Things got pretty ugly as I wasn't really in the best of shape, covered in plaster dust and looking pretty scruffy. The conversation took a definitely wrong turn when they decided my scooter was stolen. Errr no Sir, I've had it for 12 years and Yes Sir, I restored it myself 15 years ago.

Did I mentioned that of course 1) I didn't have the scoot's papers 2) I had just stuck my plates on it for a little errand and 3) YES I HAD CROSSED A WHITE LINE. It took almost 2 hours to sort all this business, with visits to the workshop AND the hous AND a full search in public... looking good :-(

This will net me a hefty fine as well as a denounciation to the judge for the lack of insurance... ouch ouch ouch.

A KR1 track bike?

Going throught the ads recently, I noticed a KR1 for sale, cheap too. This must the only one in the region, as they were never imported in Switzerland. Turns out it's a dealer that bought it as a purely track bike. Will have to check this later. Comes with spares... could help me finish the other one I've got, a Kr1B. With a bit of luck, it could be a KR1R?
